U.S. Department of State Seeks Japanese Freelance Interpreters:
Applicants must be fluent speakers of Japanese and English, be US citizens or
permanent residents (minimum 2-year residency), able to travel in the U.S. several
weeks at a time throughout the year, with a college degree and excellent knowledge
of U.S. Government and current affairs. Previous interpreting experience is strongly
preferred but formal training as an interpreter is not required. New interpreters
will be afforded the opportunity to attend training program geared to the specific
requirements of the position. Interpreters are paid a daily rate for assignments
lasting 2-3 weeks, with all travel and expenses paid.
