Vacancy : Kaltim Prima Coal

1. Superintendent Mine Geology (Code: SMG)

Key elements of the position include:

  • Coordinate, control and schedule field geology activities to achieve set objectives, contribute to the Division’s success and provide professional specialised services.
  • Maintain understanding of current innovations/technology in the geological field to apply on project, assist with geological modeling activities and resolve specified technical issues.
  • Plan, manage and monitors the unit’s budget to secure management approval, maintain costs within expenditure guidelines and identify as well as correct anomalies.
  • Negotiate with contractors and consultants to secure services and technical advice within time and cost parameters.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the Manager Geology to be informative and highlight any areas of concern.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1 degree) in Geology with 8 years experience in coal industry as a geologist and having exposure in resource evaluation, exploration and mine geology.
  • Being hold a Member of AUIMM and “Pengawas Operasional Madya” certification is preferable.
  • Thorough knowledge of coal mining terminology and physical characteristics of coal.
  • Sound in Leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.

2. Superintendent HSE (Code: SPN)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Formulate, plan, implement, monitor and review monthly and annual health, safety and environmental programs in conjunction with the General Manager and Managers in order to ensure that Prima Nirbhaya standards are maintained by MSD and contractors and relevant ISO14001, OHSAS18001, and relevant legal & other requirements.
  • Establish, monitor and review the implementation of Fatality Prevention Elements; corporate Prima Nirbhaya Standard and Systems and advise MSD Departments and Contractor Managers on the progress of implementation to satisfy the FPE requirements.
  • Ensure the establishment of and oversee the implementation of training and awareness program to educate the MSD and contractor work force on FPE and Prima Nirbhaya standard and system to maintain a high level of HSE awareness.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of effective Occupational Health and Hygiene program by ensuring that appropriate standard are put in place and regular monitoring and follow up action is carried out
  • Ensure effective safety communications by organizing and attending HSE related meeting at Divisional, Departmental, Safety Committee, KPC (SAFACT), contractor (SAFCON). Ensure an adequate Divisional HSE meeting structure is in place to ensure effective communication of all HSE matters.
  • Develops meaningful key performance indicators for monitoring and controlling the HSE performance.
  • Ensures that all MSD safe working procedure (SOP and Work Instructions) are in accordance with the Prima Nirbhaya standard.
  • Reviews HSE policies and written safe working procedures to ensure appropriateness and alignment/compliance with the relevant standards & requirements, and communication to all relevant parties so that staff follows safe working practices.
  • Monitors and reviews the HSE performance in conjunction with Department Managers to assess performance against targets, and ensures that all the activities undertaken are consistent with the MSD overall business plan.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1 degree) in Industrial related discipline with at least 8 years experience in Mining Industry.
  • Strong leadership and People Management skills.
  • Strong background in health, safety & environment (Safety Management Training such as OHSAS 18001 and Environment Management Training such as ISO 14001) and standard implementation.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Good computer skill (excel, word & statistic package).
  • Possess “Pengawas Operational Madya” certification from Directorate General of Mining and Energy.

3. Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Code : SGE)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Ensure that field and laboratory staff are sufficiently trained in all areas of investigation to enable them to perform efficiently and effectively;
  • Liaise with the drilling superintendent regarding execution of the geotechnical drilling programme in order to minimise costs and maximise output;
  • Ensure that the Field Geologists and engineers are aware, practice and maintain safe work practices at drill locations, in the pits and laboratory;
  • Advanced user of geotechnical software – Slope Stability analysis, geotechnical boreholes database, laboratory test and monitoring software;
  • Ensure the systematic staff development for geotechnical logging of all boreholes using the Borehole Log software;
  • Liaise with survey section to coordinate borehole, test pit and slope monitoring peg survey pick up;
  • Under instruction form Superintendent, liaise with other Superintendents (drilling, mine geology, mine planning and the pits) to define the drilling programme requirements and assess the priorities for drilling and monitoring.
  • Work closely with the mine planning engineers to ensure that the correct geotechnical interpretation is made for all proposed developments.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1 degree) in Mining Engineering or Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with 5 years experience in an open pit operation.
  • Good understanding of Slope Stability Analysis and geotechnical software.
  • Good understanding of geotechnical monitoring methods.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Understand survey & Geology.
  • Knowledge of Geotechnical issues and laboratory test methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Oral & Written) in both Bahasa Indonesia & English.
  • Computer literate in Windows, Word for Windows, Excel, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Project.

4. Senior Engineer Mining (Code: SEM)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Undertake short and long term production and financial planning to determine the resources required to operate the pit, manage operating cost within budget, identify key issues and satisfy production goals.
  • Support daily technical aspects of the pit operation such as short and long term planning, blast design, drainage and road design to assist in achieving agreed coal production targets.
  • Undertake environmental rehabilitation and design process as an integral part of both short and long term planning in line with PC’s environmental policy.
  • Prepare Geotechnical/Planning reports and documents to ascertain drainage, geological blasting and environmental issues impacting pit coal production.
  • Conduct investigations into planning accuracy and other projects as requested.
  • Evaluate equipment performance by means of field studies and analyzing production reports.
  • Produce reports of the result for dissemination throughout the Mining Operation Division to enable a common approach and understanding to be gained.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1 degree) in Mining Engineering with minimum 2 years experience in open cut mining operations ideally with exposure to truck and shovel operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of pit production activities and equipment, pit technical and pit maintenance process, procedures and activities.
  • Good knowledge of coal mining terminology.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organization skill.
  • A very good understanding of MINEX mining software.
  • Good Interpersonal & communication skill in both bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Possess “Pengawas Operational Pratama” certification from Directorate General of Mining and Energy.

5. Geotechnical Engineer (Code:GE)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Conduct pit slope stability analysis using available software;
  • Together with Mining Engineer and pit supervisor conducted regular pit inspection
  • Ensure day by day the mining activity follow geotechnical recommendation and assist in planning further modification of the current pit design;
  • Gathers field data; progressively interprets geological information and assists in planning further work or modification of the current programme;
  • Gathers geotechnical monitoring data; interpreted the result and inform to pit supervisor any indication of instability;
  • Supervise geotechnical laboratory activity and ensure test procedure applied at all time;
  • Liaise with the drilling supervisor regarding execution of the drilling programme

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1) in Geotechnical / Engineering Geology or Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering graduate with 0 to 3 years in mining operation experience;
  • Previous exploration experience would be of benefit;
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the quality and properties of the coal;
  • Initiative in all aspects of the profession;
  • General computers skills such as MS Windows, Excel & Word;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Possess “Pengawas Operational Pratama” certification from Directorate General of Mining and Energy

6. Mining Engineer (Code: ME)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Design and prepare the Pit’s drilling and blasting plan to optimize drill, shovel and backhoe equipment utilisation, determine short term digging sequence and contribute to the effective operation of the site.
  • Plan implement and evaluate explosive requirements to determine stock requirements and achieve blasting target within time, production and financial parameters.
  • Oversee and inspect field work on a regular basis to check the accuracy of depth and tie up activities, adhere to agree safety guidelines and produce blasting report for review by management.
  • Advise and guide staff on drilling and blasting initiatives within the PIT to raise their understanding of the issues, contribute to the achievement of Pit’s coal production goals and address specific issues.
  • Communicate with contractor to gather drill hole information, forward explosive requests, control the use of these material and effect agreed blasting plans/schedules.
  • Keep up to date with the latest drilling and blasting technology.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1-degree) in mining engineering with a minimum 2 years experience in mining operations (preferably open pit experience).
  • Knowledge of explosive, accessories and drilling equipment.
  • Blasting certificates required by Indonesia law.
  • Understanding of production sequences and requirements.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skill (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesian and English.

7. Shift Coordinator Quality Control (Code: SCQC)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Control, analyze and manage data of the quality of coal at the Crushers, Stockpiles, OLC, trucking, Transshipment Stockpiles, ROM and Crushers, Barge Loading, Transshipment Loading, on board of all vessels loading, to ensure consistent, accurate and valid data on the quality of coal.
  • Monitor all shifts operational activities related with quality of coal such as coal mining, coal reclaiming, coal crushing, coal stockpiling, coal conveying, coal trucking, barging, ship loading, to conform with quality plans, provide advice on technical/quality concerns, and monitor progress against targets.
  • Investigate any quality bias on plan versus actual at each stage of the production from mining to shipment in the shift and take immediate action to remedy problem to ensure that the quality targets are met.
  • Make changes to the schedules of crusher, reclaiming, and conveying, stacking, trucking for Sangatta and Bengalon areas to ensure that all will produce coal to the planned quality specs.
  • Liaise with the Senior-Specialist Production Plan, Mining Quality Controllers and ROM Controllers to ensure coal crusher’s schedule, coal blending of the currently loading vessel and the next vessels to load, coal stacking and coal reclaiming are within the agreed plan.
  • Liaise Coal Preparation & Coal Terminal Operations, Coordinator Transshipment to confirm that coal reclaiming plan, coal blending plan, coal stacking plan and coal trucking plan are followed.
  • Liaise regularly Independent Inspection Authority to correlate quality of the coal being conveyed to the ship and to ensure correct blending during the shift.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualification (S1 degree) in mining engineering or geology with a minimum 2 years experience in mining operation (preferably in coal quality control or grade control)
  • Excellent presentation, Coordination and planning skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE Management Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Oral & Written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Computer skills in MS Windows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint to maintain records, produce reports and presentation materials.

8. Dispatch Engineer (Code:DE)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Oversee the operation and utilization of the Modular Mining Systems (MMS) by managing the implementation of new application developed in and interfaced with MMS-Dispatch system.
  • Maintaining the system configuration, monitoring production and system data, monitoring hardware condition, resolving systems and utilization problems, training personnel etc to ensure that the system is operating efficiently.
  • Ensure that the daily input of statistics for equipment without MMS installed is being entered accurately by monitoring data.
  • Laise with the shift dispatch supervisor and dispatcher at the start of day and afternoon shifts to discuss and resolve issues relating to the efficiency and productivity of the available fleet and to ensure they are aware of issues affecting dispatch such as changes to procedures, maintenance schedules, tyre checks, equipment down, etc.
  • Carry out inspections of the pit daily to maintain an up to date knowledge of the current pit configuration, and ensure current configuration is maintained in the system.
  • Inspect GPS external aerials and their mountings and all associated system cabling for damage on equipment that is in for maintenance.
  • Identify deficiencies in performances of the Dispatch Supervisor and/or Dispatchers and coach as required to ensure optimum performance across all shift.
  • Advise Shift Production Superintendent and Dispatch Supervisor for the functionality MMS_DISPATCH system to ensure the DISPATCH personnel optimize the use of this system in efficiently manner.
  • Generate reports daily on data such as over-trucking, under-utilisation, data errors, etc, analyse and review, and in conjunction with pit production personnel and provide report on System software and hardware performance to Superintendent Mine Control.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Tertiary qualifications (S1) in Mining Engineering with 3 years experience in open cut mining operations preferably with field supervision, mine technical and dispatching experiences.
  • Good knowledge of the MMS-DISPATCH systems and other Mine Control systems such as TPMS, VIMS, PLM etc. both technical and operational.
  • Good understanding of the LINUX RHE 133 operating system and its utilities, MMS-Dispatch software, Communication protocols, computer networking, PC based software, and knowledge of dispatch hardware.
  • Good knowledge of coal mining terminology and mine engineering term and definition.
  • Excellent Planning, Analytical, Problem Solving and organization skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skill (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.

9. Specialist Maintenance Training-Electrical (Code: SMTE)
10. Specialist Maintenance Training-Mechanical (Code: SMTM)

Main elements of the position description include:

  • Develop learning programs as a result of training needs analysis conducted for various position within maintenance area.
  • Develop lesson plans from a list of learning outcomes in order to provide a consistent approach to the delivery of a competency development program.
  • Deliver off and/or the job training for KPC employees in order to raise skill and competency levels.
  • Conduct training in a manner that will encourage and motivate trainees to learn appropriately.
  • Monitor training achievement progress and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Assess course participants to ensure that learning outcomes have been met.
  • Record trainee attendance and assessment results accurately to ensure integrity of training data base and to provide accurate feedback to respective customers.
  • Resource and/or develop appropriate training materials to support effective module delivery.
  • Maintain an awareness of one’s own career development needs and be proactive in the improvement of skills, knowledge and competencies required to further improvement one’s own performance.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Minimum SLTA or STM on automotive mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 10 years experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Possessing appropriate skills for the area of either mechanical maintenance training or electrical maintenance training.
  • Computer literate and excellent skill in designing and developing training manual.
  • Excellent organizing, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.
