Senior OR Consultant, Waterside, IMC
Requirements:
- Significant time spent in a project delivery role with high analytical content.
- Have 3 A levels (or equivalent), to include 1 numerate A level grade A or B and 2 A levels grades A-C
- Achieved a 2:1 in first degree
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Operational Research (or with significant OR content),
- Management Science or Decision Sciences Capabilities Essential.
- Technical skills: business modelling, problem structuring, and complex data analysis.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities
- Utilises a wide range of specialised OR tools and techniques for the understanding and structuring of complex business problems in order to provide and evaluate potential solutions.
- Provides the means to assess the implications of future options, decisions and scenarios through developing quantitative and qualitative models of complex business issues and related factors.
- Delivers a broad insight into, and diagnoses, complex and multifarious business problems through uncovering trends, causes and relationships to allow informed decisions to be made.
- Handles complex, and often ill-defined, business problems creatively and objectively to provide the best solution for BA.
- Shows commitment in gathering together and understanding the validity of all necessary data and information, which may not be readily available.
- Deals with ambiguity on a wide range of issues.
- Applies a high level of business knowledge, including a focus on the corporate strategic direction in the resolution of business problems.
- Works flexibly across OR teams as and when required, often with a broad range of clients.

- Works with and influences line departments to implement OR project recommendations. Where appropriate this includes liaising with Corporate departments, such as Finance, Im and People.
- Initiates and maintains client relationships within the line departments they are working with.
- Works on BA�s core strategic initiatives.
- Identifies business opportunities for OR work.
- Proactively develops and nurtures key client area contacts.
- Influences the shape and content of a client area�s strategy in line with BA�s strategic priorities.
- Has considerable freedom of action and responsibility for managing and defining the direction of the OR projects that they undertake. Is highly independent.
- Manages a project successfully from start to finish by preparing plans and estimating resource requirements in order to deliver in a timely manner to a high standard and to budget.
- Determines the key issues, clarifies the scope and shapes the direction of an OR project.
- Proactively keeps clients and Team Leader informed of project progress and highlights any knock-on effects and issues.
