*I. Organization Context*
Under the supervision of the Assistant Representative and overall guidancefrom UNFPA Representative, the National Programme Officer substantivelycontributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas ofgender.
The NPO facilitates the work of consultants, advisors and experts andestablishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts ingovernment, multi lateral and bi-lateral donor agencies and civil society toaddress emerging issues.
The NPO must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds tojointly contribute to achieving UNFPA's mandate. The NPO is a substantivecontributor to the programme team in the Country Office.
*II. Substantive Duties and Responsibilities*
*GENDER***
1. Manage the Gender component of the country programme with inputs from the Assistant Representative, Special Assistant to the Representative and other programme officers; 2. In collaboration with Government counterparts, CST advisers, NGOs and other partners, prepare and formulate the project documents requires for implementation, such as work plans, project descriptions and budgets. 3. Analyze and interpret the political, social and economic environment relevant to gender and identify opportunities for UNFPA assistance and interventions. 4. Review and recommend new Annual Work Plans; monitor project expenditures and disbursements to ensure delivery is in line with approved project budgets and to realize targeted delivery levels for the gender programme. 5. Coordinate project implementation; establish collaborative relationships with executing agencies, government counterparts and other UN agencies. 6. Facilitate timely and efficient delivery of projects and address training needs for projects personnel. 7. Monitor and supervise progress on existing gender projects in collaboration with PCO Gender at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and M&E Officer. 8. Prepare regular progress reports. 9. Make field visits to assist the partners in implementation and monitoring of the Gender projects and activities. 10. Provide leadership in substantive areas including Gender-based violence, Gender-based budgeting and UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (women in conflict situation). 11. Write new proposals for resource mobilization for Gender projects.

1. Collaborate with other Programme Officers in preparing and editing policy and programme documents and donor reports to reflect gender dimensions; 2. In collaboration with Programme Officers, contribute to the analysis and preparation of targeted policy briefs, information sheets and other documents, on UNFPA in Indonesia and/or on specific programmes; 3. Helps create and document knowledge about current and emerging gender issues, and shares with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies; 4. In collaboration with Representative and Assistant Representative, assist in the review and development of the Common Country Assessment (CCA); 5. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

- A Master's degree in sociology, women's studies, economics, public health, development studies, or other related social sciences; or Medical degree.

- Fluency in oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia. Knowledge of an additional UN Language is desirable. - Ability to write clearly and concisely.
