Department: Juvenile Probation / Assessment Services
Salary: $3686.71 - $4608.40 Monthly. Commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions
Coordinates two psychosocial groups including registering participants, serving as the contact person for the probation officers, and recording participant's completion of the program. Supervises several Department staff, including clinical review of their work and performance evaluations. Conducts assessments of mental health and substance abuse among juveniles detained and in the community. Provides diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations for juveniles and their families. Consults with probation officers. Maintains and analyzes data regarding Assessment Center activities and programs. Conducts trainings for staff. Assists with scheduling and coordinating assessments.
Required Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Criminal Justice or a directly related field AND four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in social services, community corrections, or juvenile agency, including at least one (1) year in lead, supervisory or management experience.
License: Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Special Requirements:
*Must be at least 21 years of age.
*Certification as a Juvenile Probation Officer and Detention Officer or eligible for certification within six (6) months of hire date, including successful completion of CPR First Aid and Handle with Care (state approved physical restraint technique).
Preferred:
*Bilingual in English/Spanish
*Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
*Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
