Cranes and Rigging Supervisor
* Site-based in Laos
* 1 Year Fixed
Term Contract : * FIFO completing a 42-days-on/14-days-off roster, with flights provided to and from place of hire

ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Establish and/or maintain standard maintenance work practices and occupational health safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company values, policies
and procedures.
-Motivate & develop local workforce & identify gaps in skill levels put in place
appropriate training plans to ensure employees have the required skills to perform in your disciplines.
-Identify, develop and implement a control process for general rigging and scaffold
tooling.
-Audit and advise on heavy lifts
-Assist with cost control over rigging / scaffold tooling and maintain a suitable
inventory for maintenance purposes.
-Select and maintain an optimum level of safe tooling.
-Ensure compliance with all statutory codes, acts, regulations from a maintenance
perspective to protect the employees, Company, its equipment from possible litigation, damage or injury
-Work with the construction workforce in advising on safe and efficient processes
during this phase of the operation.

Principal
Responsibilities:
-Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will be responsible for advising on the safe execution of equipment lifts.monitoring crane condition and training of the
Lao Nationals so that work is carried out in an acceptable manner.You will be attached initially to the construction workforce as an advisor during this phase
of the project.You will be prepared to relieve plant maintenance supervision as
required and be responsible for setting up a suitable rigging loft and
advise on tooling requirements.

Skills and Experience required:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experienced in Developing detailed lift studies and calculating the SWL for complex rigging arrangements'
  • Supervision of up to 20 staff working on several work fronts
  • Operation of both Crawler Crane (to 250t) and Rough Terrain (to 100t)
  • Scaffolding both modular and tube and clip
  • Experienced in both construction and maintenance rigging and scaffolding
  • Skills in inspecting lifting equipment along with test and tagging
  • Computer skills
  • At least 10yrs all round experience
  • Must have had previous supervisory role
  • Must be a self starter, highly motivated, works to high quality standards and always ensuring the required survey service is delivered on time to meet the needs of the mining operations.
